Have you ever been in a situation where you want to help a friend but you're helpless?
Have you ever been in a situation where you want to do your best but you simply can't?
I have been in both situations and once again, life has shown me how useless a man can be in the face of difficulties...

Ever heard of a cat cafe?
Well, the land of Hello Kitty now has a new fad: feline therapy for humans..
and yes, this takes the form of a cat cafe...
and it is an increasing trend in Japan now..
Up to date, eleven cat cafes have opened in and around Tokyo since 2005, most of them in 2007 including the one opened by cat-lover Yumi Matsuda in her father's old dentist office..
All the cat cafes sell themselves as an island of purring calm in a city where commutes are long, housing is cramped and landlords are pet intolerant..
The cafe offers tea, juice, and the opportunity to lounge around with a roomful of cats at $11/hour...
The animals roam the inner sanctum, a bright, carpeted room furnished with sofas, cat toys, and a TV showing cat videos..
Surely a paradise for cat lovers !!
but Masuda limits clients to only eight at a time claiming that even though the cats enjoy the attention, they prefer to outnumber the humans...
Interested???
Why not visit their websites here:
It's in Japanese but if you put the website on google, it is able to give a rough translation of the website..

Topic of the day:
HOW WILL THE UNIVERSE END??
Scientists or more specifically astrophysicists have long speculated that one day, our universe will end..
but how??
To understand the theory, we must understand that according to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, every matter tends to their disorder state, which means the entropy of a matter will always increase..
This is applicable to the universe as well..
so, the entropy of universe will always increase..
how will it end then?
There are three theories drawn up...
The first is the theory of BIG CRUNCH..
This theory states that as the universe expands, there will be a saturation point or maximum point..
and at this point, the universe will reach its limit and everything will be pulled back towards its origin resulting in the end of the universe..
This is just like a mini rocket propelled into the sky will get pulled back by the gravity..
so in this case, the universe will be pulled back by the forces of attraction from the centre which is essentially the black hole..
The second theory is known as the BIG CHILL..
In this case, as the universe expands, it is actually doing work against the forces of attraction from the black hole..
Thus, the universe is actually losing energy and this means the universe will get colder and colder until one point where everything will be cold and dark..
and hence, the end of the universe...
The third theory is related to the rate at which the universe expands..
It states that the rate of expansion of the universe is so great that it will rip apart everything to the smallest atoms and cause the universe to rupture..
WHICH ONE IS TRUE?
Astrophysicists around the world have been working on this research for quite some time...
and to help them in their research they give certain names to related forces existing in the universe..
Dark energy is defined as the forces responsible for the expansion of the universe (repulsive force)..
Dark matter is the one that exerts a pull on the universe (attractive force)..
To help prove the theories, the astrophysicists tried to find which one is the dominant force in the universe..
If dark matter dominates, the universe will be pulled back in the years ahead..
but if dark energy dominates, the universe will continue to expand and expand...
Rigorous researches show that dark energy dominates over the pull exerted by dark matter and so BIG CRUNCH is not feasible...
but mysteries remain whether BIG CHILL or rupture of the universe will explain how the universe is going to meet its end...
One thing for sure, though, the end is imminent...

Topic of the day:
IS MONEY MORE IMPORTANT THAN FRIENDSHIP?
This year has been particularly tough...
It's not the workload but the nonsense that distracts me from focusing on my work...
I singled out the above topic because it is the most prominent issue that was brought up recently and is, in fact, still an issue to be solved..
The main problem is actually very simple...
It all happens because there are a few individuals who do not want to pay what they don't use..
As simple as that..
but what I don't agree with is to sacrifice friendship for the sake of petty money..
Here's how it started...
I am living in a 5 bedrooms house..
and knowing UK is cold starting autumn..we decided to start increasing the timing for the heating..
It was all peaceful until recently when we discovered that we have used 2000 units from November till now (February)..
To be honest, it is indeed an insane amount..
but since I believe we are responsible individuals and do not turn on the heater as much as he likes, I think there's nothing we can do but to accept that fact and start to conserve as much as we can..
but there is one more thing..
this year's winter has been particularly cold...
If you've read the news, you would notice how heavy snow has struck London and nearby area..
Subzero temperature is common now and I would say it's actually reasonable to increase the heating time during this period..
Think about this, what's the point of staying in a freezing cold house?
I believe everyone wants to stay in a house where they can enjoy..
A house they can call "Home Sweet Home"
Ok, so what is the relation to friendship?
One of my housemates brought a guest to my house recently and because the house was freezing cold when she arrived, my friend, trying to be a good host, requested to turn on the heater..
but it was met with discontentment by my other housemate who was there..
and he then went on to say how we should make him pay more and bla bla bla..
seriously..
you have a guest in your house and you want the host to pay more because of that??
Sometimes I wonder if I'm staying in a house or a hostel?
I have to freaking report every time my friend wants to visit me..
and now, I have to pay more because I have a friend visiting me??
Maybe I am naive..but would that not give an impression that my house doesn't actually welcome a guest???
When I told him that this would strain our friendship, he said we have nothing to lose...
I was totally speechless...
For the sake of petty money, we are willing to sacrifice a friend...
seriously, how low can human go?
I dun blame anyone for being stingy..but isn't this a little too far?
The house is freezing anyway...so might as well we turn on the heater rather than all of us hiding under our blanket and could not do what we want to do..
The above case has been actually edited due to it being a sensitive issue but the main point is still the same, host made to pay more because friend comes to stay..
I would like to know readers' comments or opinions on this matter. Cheers..
Oh blog...
Forgive me for having abandoned you for this long..
Right here right now, I repent and hope you'll forgive me..
