These few days I discovered something very very interesting...
Another of my hypothesis is correct!!!!
I have long known that my singaporean friend has some kind of grudge against me..
and it was finally revealed during the exam time...
I have to say I'm really lucky to find out about it...
As you may know, singaporeans are known for their "kiasu-ism"...
but this is the most extreme case I've seen so far...
Never have I seen such attitude like my friend (say H for convenience)...

H actually said that it would be better for him if I'm not in Newcastle...
cos apparently, it's very hard for him to get the top student title if I'm there...(not trying to brag)
but think about this...
have you ever wished for someone to not be in the same course as you so that you can't be the top student????
Frankly, I've never done that...
If I feel that I'm not in the same level as someone, then I would simply work harder..
not wish for him to disappear!!!
Anyway, his hatred might be partly due to my fault...
Everytime he asked me if I understand something or have studied for exam, I said yes for most of the time...
logically, if you think you're ready, why do you have to say "No"???
From one POV, I am indirectly putting pressure on H
but on the other hand, I just say what is in my mind..
Do I not have the right to say what I think???
This is the problem with Singaporean...
they're trained to say "No" when asked about academic stuff...
If asked "Have you started revising for exam?", they would say "No" even if they have started..
If asked "Have you done the homework?", they would say "No" even if they have done half of it..
and what you would see is that the next day they come to uni, they've done everything that they said "No" to..
Suddenly you will see long lists of calculations from his notepad, and suddenly he understands most of the materials tested for exam...
Not all Singaporeans are like this...
but H is certainly one of those really "kiasu" type...
He prefers to hear all the "Nos" than "Yes"..

Anyway, my results are coming out next week..
I hope that he won't find lame excuses again...
