Going to Singapore on my friend's birthday may be one of the biggest decisions that I have to make in my life..
I was forced to choose between family or friend..
I tried to balance as far as I can..
and chose to come to Singapore after what I thought enough balancing..
It turned out well indeed..
I almost screwed up as I did not bring the birthday present on time due to unforeseen circumstances..
Gave her quite a surprise when she called me and heard me wished Happy Birthday!!!!
FYI, I called her as soon as I reached Singapore and repeated that in the afternoon for many times but she was busy with her work...
Luckily, I had a diversion and gave her the actual birthday present on the next day..
Well, actually it was 2 days after her birthday..
I know it lost its meaning but certainly it did not undermine my effort..hehehehe..
The present was a custom-made mug which I drew our favourite anime character on it..
She thought I bought it somewhere..
but then I asked her to look at the bottom of the mug and it has my trademark on it..
She told me she likes the mug and will make good use of it..
What my friend said is really true..
"Everyone can buy presents but only a few can make birthday present"
and to make a birthday present certainly means more than buying one..
That sentence is what pushed me forward to make one for her..
I'm happy that I can make a difference in a person's life..
Although it is only for a while..
To me, birthday is a once-a-year event and should be made special...
